We have been working on standard 6.NS.3, which requires students to be able to read, write, compare, and compute decimals. Our UNIT ASSESSMENT will be Tuesday September 13th. Students have taken several quizzes they can use to study, as well as notes from their workbook. A major weakness is being able to say a number with decimals in correct place value.
For example: 17.987 would be read aloud or written in word form as "seventeen AND nine hundred eighty-seven thousandths". Also, students need to be able to round decimals to a given place value. If the above number ( 17.987) were to be rounded to the nearest hundredths place, it would become 17.99. I have linked some online resources below for computation practice. Remember, the focus is to become fluent when working with decimals ( we will work with fractions in a later unit of study).
